Talk Haven Mediation – Online Mediation Across the UK

We offer online family mediation to help parents and separating couples resolve child arrangements, financial matters, and communication—without the stress and cost of court.

WHAT IS MEDIATION

Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process where a trained mediator helps for example separating couples or family members discuss and resolve issues such as parenting arrangements, finances, or property. It’s a more affordable, less adversarial alternative to court

Mediation can also be for disputes relating to for example debt or employment issues.

WHAT IS THE FIRST STEP

The first step in the process is to contact us via our contact Form or call us for an initial Free Consultation about our services.

Step two is to book you pre-mediation meeting this is an individual meeting to discuss the mediation process and assess if this may be suitable for your particuLar circumstances

WHAT IS A MIAM

A MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) is the first step in the family mediation process. It’s a one-to-one meeting between you and the mediator to discuss your situation, understand how mediation works, and decide whether it’s the right path.

  • The MIAM is completely confidential

  • Only one person attends at a time

  • If mediation isn’t appropriate, we can issue a MIAM certificate so you can apply to court.

WHAT IS THE COST OF THE ABOVE

We offer appointments at a flat rate of £125.00-£140.00, this is the average cost of a mediator.

This includes:

  • Up to 45 minutes for a confidential meeting with a trained mediator

  • A MIAM certificate if mediation cannot proceed which cost £80 extra

HOW DO I BOOK?

Booking is simple and fully online. your MIAM. You can also email us at hello@togethermediation.co.uk or call 07359 419 290 - our appointments team will book your meeting in with a mediator. Or use the Contact Form to send us your details and we will contact you.

HOW DOES MEDIATOIN TAKE PLACE / WHERE

All our mediation is conducted online, via secure video call. This flexible approach allows you to join from anywhere worldwide and often leads to better outcomes, as clients feel more relaxed in their own environment. We also offer shuttle mediation—where each person is in a separate virtual room—if preferred. We are able to provide direct meetings at conference rooms in all major cities but we have found that people prefer not to be in the same room and that video call really does work the bet and is less expensive.

WHAT CAN WE DISCUSS OR RESOVLE AT FAMILY MEDIATION

Our family mediation services do help resolve a wide range of issues:

  • Child arrangements (contact schedules, holidays, schooling)

  • Financial mediation (division of assets, pensions, debts, and savings)

  • Communication plans between parents

  • Adjustments to existing agreements as situations change.

  • Any other issues the list can be endless.

IS MEDIATION CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes. All family mediation sessions are private and legally privileged. This means nothing discussed can be used in court without mutual agreement, except in circumstances involving risk of harm or criminal activity. Financial disclosure made during mediation can support legal documents if required.

HOW LONG DOES MEDIAITON TAKE?

Most people resolve their issues in 1–6 sessions. In fact, over 70% of mediation matters are resolved in less than 6 sessions. We offer a course of 3 or 6 sessions with one meeting half price or one free. Ask us for the best option for your circumstances.

DO YOU WORK WITH LAWYERS / SOLICITORS

Yes we do work with the above to help you take the next steps after mediation if concluded.  Mediation helps to narrow or resolve the key issues, and then a lawyer can draft the final legal documentation (such as a consent order or financial agreement) to be submitted to the court.
This saves time, reduces legal fees, and ensures both legal and emotional support.

WHAT IF ONE PARTY REFUSES TO ATTEND MEDIATION?

If mediation isn’t suitable, or one party chooses not to participate, our team will arrange for you to have a MIAM certificate that allows you to apply to court. The process is still valid and keeps the door open for future resolution.

WHAT IF WE DO NOT AGREE ALL MATTERS AT MEDIATION?

If full agreement isn’t reached, mediation often narrows the issues and improves communication. If mediation ends without resolution, we can provide a certificate confirming that mediation was attempted, allowing you to continue through legal avenues we will speak to you about those options and how to get advice.

HOW ARE MEDIATORS TRAINED?
